To use the outdoor gas hob, ensure that the gas bottle is open by switching the black lever near the neck of the bottle. Then turn the silver knobs on the gas hob to the right to allow gas flow. Strike a match at the hob to light it - if there is a yellow push-in button, hold this down when the match is ready to light the gas (this is a safety feature to prevent gas leaks). To turn them off, just turn the silver knobs to the left. Please ensure that the hobs are always turned off after use. 
Cooking equipment is provided in the clear tub underneath the gas hob, and your crockery &amp; cutlery are inside the cabin in the drawer. There is also an electric kettle inside your cabin.

Outdoor Kitchen & Cooking

If you are self-catering, we kindly ask you to take care of your washing up. Sponges, tea towels, and environmentally friendly washing-up liquid can be found in the cupboard underneath the sink in the ensuite bathroom.

Washing up

To open the sliding doors, use the smaller key on your hut keys and unlock the handle on the left. Open and fold back all the way, then back in the hut, lift up the handle on the right and push the door forwards. The doors should naturally fold as you push them to the right.

If you have booked to stay with children, extra bedding will be provided for you to make up the fold-out sofa bed. The fold-out sofa bed may not be made up for you as once set up it will restrict space in the kitchenette area. If it is not set-up, when you are ready to go to bed, remove the cushions and fold out the black fabric flap. Pull out and unfold the mattress frame, and it’s ready to make up. In the morning, just fold away! You can find the bedding in a linen bag underneath the main bed.

Fold-out Sofa bed

There is a small, fold-up table underneath the bed to give you more surface space should you need it, and lap trays can be found on top of the mini-fridge for breakfast in bed. Enjoy our complimentary bath robes, left on the bed for your arrival.

Lap Trays and Bath Robes

If you start to feel chilly, feel free to light the wood-burner or switch on the radiator by turning the dial until the light comes on. Hot water bottles are provided as well as blankets, but do let us know if you’d like any extras. If it’s a clear night, wrap up warm and enjoy a starlit evening around the firepit. Two buckets of logs, kindling, firelighters and matches are provided next to the wood-burner. If you do run out then a top-up can be purchased from Reception for £15.

Heating & Firewood

Arrange the kindling or smaller pieces of wood in a cross-hatch pattern on the bare tray of the wood burner. Pop one or two firelighters in the small gaps between the pieces of wood and strike a match against them. Let the flames catch, keep the wood-burner door open slightly for a minute or two to allow adequate air flow to get the fire started – please do not leave the fire unattended while the door is open. Once the fire has caught and the kindling is burning, add a log or two on top, shut the wood-burner door and open the latches to allow air flow. Adjust the latches to control temperature, if it does get too hot then close the latches to restrict air flow.

Pop one or two firelighters in the small gaps between the pieces of wood and strike a match against them. Let the flames catch, and once a small fire is burning then add one or two logs. Once blazing, feed the logs onto the fire as needed. If using the grill top for cooking, use the fire-safety glove to position the grill on top of the fire pit.

To order breakfast, use the menu provided in your hut and text the team between 8:30am and 9:30am on 07930847520 to order, then we will make your food fresh for you and deliver it to your door. Be sure to let us know if you’d like a top-up of fresh milk to enjoy a morning tea or coffee. 

To order a Picnic Lunch, use the menu provided in your hut (on the back of the breakfast menu) and text the team on the number above. We kindly ask you to order by 9:30am, and your picnic will be ready to pick up from the front desk from 11am. If you’d like it ready for a specific time after 11am, please do let us know when you order. 

If you have pre-ordered evening meals throughout your stay then they will be delivered between 6-7pm. If you’d like to add drinks to your order and you haven’t specified this in your pre-order form, please let us know by phoning or messaging the team on 07930 847520 or by popping up to Reception any time before 6pm. You are also more than welcome to help yourself to drinks from our Honesty Bar in the Linhay – please note down which items you have taken and your accommodation, and they will be added to your room tab which you can settle at check-out.

Food & Drink

Please do feel free to enjoy your outdoor bath and shower. We kindly ask that no bubble bath or products are used in the bath.
