Just an hour from London, Kingshill Farmhouse is an exclusive-use luxury farmhouse at the heart of Elmley Nature Reserve, surrounded by sweeping marshes, wildflower meadows and wide-open skies. It's a place for unrushed time spent together - stays here mean slow mornings, long lunches, group walks through the reserve, and evenings that stretch late into the night.

With stylish ensuite bedrooms, homely shared spaces, luxurious interiors and views that stretch for miles, Kingshill Farmhouse is somewhere to feel thoroughly spoilt and completely at home. Sleeping up to 12 guests, there are six individually decorated bedrooms finished with carefully sourced furniture, Roberts radios, fluffy robes and Romney Marsh hot water bottles. Five downstairs reception rooms offer the space to spread out, or sit down together with a board game and cups of tea. Outdoors, private gardens wrap the house featuring wildflower beds and plenty of space to play, sit and eat outside.
Whether you're bringing together generations of family, celebrating with friends, hosting a retreat or gathering for a wedding, the Farmhouse offers something increasingly rare - space to simply be together.

Summer evenings are spent alfresco, gathered around a sharing spread or toasting marshmallows on the firepit. Sliding kitchen doors open fully to the patio for indoor-outdoor entertaining, and tall hung windows frame vast nature views beautifully from each room. Wake to the sound of the dawn chorus, and after a homecooked breakfast rally the group for a walk through the reserve for a spot of wildlife-watching - or relax in the pair of Adirondack chairs and watch the world go by from the private garden.

In the chillier months, spread out leisurely across the five downstairs reception rooms, each with their own character and luxuriously appointed. There's the Drawing Room for nights to dress up for, or curl up with a book or board game in The Library, indulge in a rich feast at the handmade Dining Room table and move to The Snug for late-night whiskies around the fire. Watch from the huge glass kitchen windows the reserve transform as autumnal hues and winter frost adorn the landscape, and winter wildlife takes center stage.

The Farmhouse has all the grandeur of a historic country house, but none of the formality.
Lovingly restored in 2019, it balances centuries of history with thoughtful contemporary design. Francesca Rowan Plowden, the interior designer behind the renovation project (you may also know her from her appearance on 'The Traitors UK!'), sought to source second-hand materials where possible - resulting in an eclectic blend of original fireplaces, hallways and exposed brickwork, with handcrafted furniture and reclaimed pieces, rich fabrics, and colours inspired by the Elmley skies.

The sunny hue of the Yellow Room mirrors cheerful July skies, while the Library exudes the dramatic atmosphere of a thunderstorm rolling across the marshes. Reclaimed ship lights and mermaid tiles in the Blue Room ensuite nod to Elmley's coastal location, while a rich velvet headboard and the original fireplace are regal touches referencing the space that imprisoned King James II during the late 1600s, when he tried to escape Protestant England.

Kingshill Farmhouse has the scale, grandeur and luxury for the most memorable celebrations, and the warmth, character and laid-back charm for no occasion at all. A place to celebrate, reconnect, slow down and make memories - whatever brings you here.
