We're excited to announce that Kingshill Farmhouse is now available for guests to enjoy as a whole house
Kingshill Farmhouse is a luxury 6 bedroom property at the heart of Elmley Nature Reserve. From October we're inviting our guests to book the whole house for their exclusive use.
The Farmhouse sleeps up to 14 across its stylish and restful bedrooms and offers ample opportunities to gather... whether it's in the huge stunning kitchen, elegant dining room, in one of the three reception rooms or spreading across the large private gardens.
Every room is designed to make the most of the huge views and the incredible nature setting. A perfect space for extraordinary stays, with our team on hand to help, whether you're looking to switch off and relax, immersed in nature, or celebrate that important event.
Kingshill Farmhouse has stood watch over Elmley's water meadows and marshes for nearly 400 years.
For many years it was home to the farming families who grazed their livestock on the remote Elmley Island, and was even the site of a King James II 's temporary prison! The last family to live in the house had 13 children, most of whom went to school on the mainland by the old Elmley ferry.
Sadly over time the house then fell into disrepair, until we began our project to lovingly and carefully restore the house from its dilapidated state in 2018. With the help of a fantastic team we sensitively restored the period features, preserving the character and heritage of the house, whilst thoughtfully creating a wonderful space for gatherings (you can read more and see before and after images here).
In Summer 2019 we joyously threw the doors open and welcomed guests to hire the house as a whole house. It was wonderful to see the house come to life for special occasions, and gatherings of friends and families. Then Covid hit...
Sad to see this house, designed for gatherings, sitting empty for so many months, we decided to invite guests to enjoy the Farmhouse in a safe way - by transforming the house into individual B&B rooms for those looking for a little escape.
While it was a joy to welcome those B&B guests, the time has now come to move it back to its original purpose as an incredible house for gatherings.
It has been wonderful to host B&B stays, but it is time to move forward. As caretakers of a very special Nature Reserve, sustainability must always be our priority. And hosting a full whole house will always be the most sustainable model, for energy use, the Reserve, our team and our business.
We've had lots of questions over the past months about guests wishing to celebrate their special occasions in the house, and bring together their nearest and dearest in this wonderful space.
We are delighted to let you know that Kingshill Farmhouse relaunches in October as a whole house. We can't wait to welcome you.
