The Environment Agency are repairing a a stretch of our sea wall adjacent to the hides at Spitend throughout July. The works will take 4-5 weeks and will focus on repairing the seaward face of the wall adjacent to the hides. There will be a diverted route to Southfleet and Spitend hides for the duration of the works so please follow the signs and expect some noise and large vehicle traffic to and fro for the duration. The works are obviously vital to maintaining the reserve as a fresh water marsh and have been timed to have the least impact on the reserve i.e. after the breeding bird period.

Blue Badge holders please note the car park adjacent to the hides will be closed and the route will be in use by large vehicles and so will be closed to access for the duration. Do please continue to enjoy the 2 mile entry road and facilities at Kingshill Farm until works are complete.

Southfleet hide - with the necessary absence of cattle around Southfleet hide we have taken the opportunity to repair the bund which shields visitors from disturbing birds on the scrapes whilst entering the hide. The hide will be open as normal from 4th July.
